Fantastic quality & genuinely helpful for real-life moments
I’m so impressed with these emotion cards! The quality is excellent—sturdy, smooth, and clearly made to last. One of my favorite parts is the content on the back of each card. It explains the emotion in simple, kid-friendly language and gives great prompts for talking about feelings.I used them recently with my five-year-old after he had a pretty big tantrum, and they made such a difference. We picked out a card together, and the description on the back helped him understand what he was feeling and why. Very high quality product
This is such a great product! The quality was even better than the pictures. I am so happy to have one pack at home to share with my grandson and I am giving the other one to his teacher, I am sure she will love it. Each card has beautiful illustrations and the best part is the paragraph on the back, it has given me so much information to understand these emotions, I even felt I needed these for me. My 5-year-old absolutely loves them, she’ll pull them out on her own and start naming and identifying her feelings with so much confidence. It’s incredible to watch her vocabulary and self-awareness grow. Honestly, my husband and I are learning right alongside her, it’s sparked some really meaningful conversations as a family. High quality cards, very useful for communicating with kids about emotions
Nice cards, they are really thick and sturdy which I like. You wouldn’t be able to shuffle these or anything, way to thick for that. The wording on some of the cards is a little odd, nothing major just might be difficult for youngsters. The cards are color coded for three different types of emotions and there is a card that explains how they categorized them. The front of each card has a kid making a facial expression that aligns to the emotion being represented. The back of the card walks the kids through identifying the emotion, what may have prompted the emotion in them at some point, what it felt like in their body to feel that emotion, and what the emotion was alerting them to – I love that! At the bottom they provide a couple of examples of those things to help kids understand how to express themselves, it’s really cool. I also like that the drawings on the cards represent a diverse sampling of children. I like that there are many different emotions included but it’s not overwhelming. We have feelings wheel pillows at home which are great for older children but cards with that many emotions and complicated words could easily be too much for kids to handle and decipher. The box says these are for ages 2+. I think they could work pretty well for 2 year olds with lots of adult guidance. I have been using them with my 7 year old who has been struggling to articulate her feelings on some heavy topics and they are perfect. She can read all of the words on the cards and the example statements at the bottom help her understand how to think about how her own emotions are showing up. We use them every morning and every evening and I recommend she pick one or two cards but she can pull as many as she wants that reflect her feelings and we discuss. The box includes a card with some other ideas on how to use the cards. I think this would be an excellent resource for any school counselor, teacher, therapist, or parent looking to help young children understand and express their emotions. The price is a little high but it’s a high quality product and I see a lot of value in using them so overall a great investment.
