Great drum set for beginner!
Originally this was going to be a Christmas gift but we decided to give for sons 8th birthday. WOW, he was amazed!!!! Sadly, the video is too long for me to upload, but he absolutely loves this drum. Very user friendly. Love that it comes with everything you need (even the earbuds so we don’t hear it allllll day long) :)I was going to get old school drum set and then this popped up on lightening deal so I figured we would try it out. So happy we did – excellent value, and fits easily in a backpack to take on the road. We are visiting family for holidays and this is perfect to take and keep entertained (and off the dag on electronics)!!Definitely recommend buying one – my 5 sons (ages 3-17) all enjoyed this! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Excellent and Practical
This Drum Set is exactly what it claims in the product info. Gave it as a gift to my 6 year old neighbor boy and he was SO happy. He uses it a lot. Drums along to music off the Internet. It’s definitely worth every penny. It sounds great. It’s practical. The roll-up makes is so easy to carry wherever. It’s GREAT !!!

Thoughts from a former drummer
As a former drummer, when my wife told me she bought a “roll up” drum pad for our son… I was skeptical. After it came… I was surprised.It has a high-hat pedal and a kick drum pedal – wasn’t expecting that. It’s got a few different drum kit sound banks – wasn’t expecting that. It’s got a rather loud speaker (and support for headphones) – wasn’t expecting that. It has MIDI support if you want to hook it up to a computer to control a software drum kit – wasn’t expecting that. It also came with sticks and headphones, which was a nice bonus.Surprisingly, this unit can keep up with some complex drum patterns. It’s a ton of fun. Practically speaking, it’s an awesome introduction to drumming for kids or adults. Since it has both a high hat and kick pedal, you can actually learn all your coordination and basic drum patterns and then, after you’re showing promise, “upgrade” to a real set when you’re ready.One feature I appreciated is the button on the unit called “special.” It swaps the high hat and snare drum locations to make it easier to drum if you’re used to a more traditional drum setup where you’d play the high hat with your right arm.A couple things to just be aware of… First off, it’s not a “professional” drum kit. That should be obvious, but it’s worth stating. In other words, it doesn’t vary the sound depending on where you hit the pad, or play louder or softer depending on the impact velocity. Also, the drum sounds sound good for what it is, but don’t expect to be able to record these and have it sound like a real kit. But again, I highly doubt that’s why you’re buying this.All in all, for children or for adults exploring drumming for the first time, it’s very worth the money. I’ve had as much fun playing with it as my son. I can almost assure you you’ll have a blast.

Wasn’t expecting much.Bought the one with MIDI.Sounds fairly good on it’s own, quite loud, but once hooked up to the Mac computer it was awesome!All pads were correctly assigned automatically.Now we can record our own drum tracks very easy. No computer typing!it is not touch senstive so not quite live drum sounds. Expected for this price.The special button switches the hi hat and snare positions, but should also move the cymbals.The pad on the top right should be a cymbal for when you finish a drum roll.Pedals worked good.Play on a hard surface like a table, coffee table, etc. not the couch.Overall, obviously you get what you pay for, not expecting a comparison to actual electronic drums, but a great entry into it, especially for aspiring young drummers or musicians wanting a cheap set for recording on their computer.Definitely buy it if you’re interested.Just make sure it is the midi one, if you want or need that.
