Stem project
This is a really good learning experience, but he needed adult help with the wiring. Good bonding project

Grandson sure enjoyed this.
This was a good project for grandpa and grandson (9yrs.). The finished project was certainly enjoyed. But grandpa later admitted that he thinks he should have watched the video first and thought the written instructions could have been more clear. QR code is provided in the instructions.

Nice projects – Some may require adult guidance/ assistance
I am an adult building most of the Poraxy kits for a small grandchild who really enjoys them. The instructions are ok, but not great. Wood is good but care must be taken not to break. Quick dry glue (not included) can be helpful but is not required. Most of the models use small screws (screwdriver included). Coin feeder box is fun but delicate.

Fantastic value
For the average cost of $5/kit, these are fantastic for days at home. The tools needed are included. The directions may require a bit more puzzling than Kiwico sometimes, but my 8 year old can usually do it on his own. This is maybe the 6th box by Poraxy that we’ve bought in the last year or so and they’ve all been great for the building experience.

Get these kits for your grandchildren
My 7 yr old grandson loves these kits. I am ordering more. They are much cheaper than then science clubs online. And what he creates is made well enough that they last while being played with.

Great STEM kits
Haven’t put them together but comes in individual packages with motors. Looks like a great STEM project.

Half worked
The piano is a wind up music box, but the windup mechanism broke after one use. I would prefer a hand crank music box for younger kids. The coin bank had metal rods to push onto plastic arm joints. This was very difficult to do. Also, something did not work right arms became twisted and did not raise properly. The coins just fall into an area with the internal mechanisms which will impact longevity. Overall, I think this was too hard of a build for 8 year olds without assistance. The music box with hand crank gets a 5/5 – my son loved it so much he wants to save it for his children in the future!Safe worked great too! Be sure to write down the code if you change it off of 000.My only complaint is that the instructions are not clear as to which screw length to use so kids often choose the wrong ones. The screw drivers should be magnetized to help hold onto the screws as they are so tiny.

Great for curious kids!
Bought these last summer for my kids (12,9, and 7) and they all had so much fun putting these together. They aren’t over complicated, but they all needed adult assistance for portions of the build. Be patient, enjoy the time together, and have fun!
